Calcough Children’s Syrup
- A non-drowsy cough syrup that relieves dry, tickly coughs and sore throats.
Suitable for Children 5 Years and Over
How to Use
- Please read the enclosed leaflet carefully before use.
- Check the cap seal is broken before first use. If it is, do not take this medicine.
- For oral use only. Do not give more medicine than the carton (and/or label) tells you to.
- Do not overfill the spoon. There is a double-ended spoon in the pack.
Dosage:
- Children 1 – 5 Years: One 5 ml spoonful
- Children 5 Years and Over and Adults (including the elderly): Two 5 ml spoonfuls
Give the dose 3 or 4 times within 24 hours, if needed. If your child does not feel better or starts to feel worse, tell your doctor or pharmacist.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: You can take this medicine if you are pregnant and breastfeeding
If Anyone Has Taken Too Much: If anyone has taken too much of this product, contact a doctor or your nearest Accident & Emergency Department (Casualty), taking this pack with you.
If You Forget to Give the Medicine: If you forget a dose, give the next dose when needed. Do not give a double dose.
Hazards and Cautions
Before Giving This Medicine to Your Child:
This product is suitable for most people, but a few people should not use it. If you are in any doubt you should contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Do Not Give Your Child This Medicine:
- If s/he is under 1 year old.
- If s/he is allergic to any of the ingredients.
Talk to Your Doctor or Pharmacist:
If your child has an intolerance to some sugars.
Possible Side-Effects:
This medicine is unlikely to cause side-effects unless your child is allergic to the ingredients. If your child experiences any of the following, stop giving the medicine and seek immediate medical help.
- Unexplained wheezing or difficulty in breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat (severe allergic reactions).
Reporting of Side Effects:
If you get any side effect, talk to your doctor, pharmacist, or nurse. This includes any possible side-effects not listed on the carton. You can also report side-effects directly via the Yellow Card Scheme at: www.mhra.gov.uk/yellowcard. By reporting side-effects you can help provide more information on the safety of this medicine.
Storage
- Keep the bottle tightly closed.
- Do not give this medicine after the expiry date shown on the bottle.
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
Precautions
This is a medicine; Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have an underlying medical condition, are taking any other medication or complementary therapy, or if symptoms persist. Seek advice if you suffer from allergies.

Ingredients
Active ingredients: Each 5 ml of medicine are: Glycerin 0.75 ml and Sucrose 1.7 g
Also contains: Citric Acid Monohydrate, Sodium Benzoate (E211), Anthocyanin, Blackcurrant Flavour, Blackcurrant Juice, Liquid Glucose, and Purified Water.
